Arianne King Comer

June 5 - June 30, 2023

Arianne King Comer is a multi-media textile artist, designer, and educator specializing in Indigo dying and Batik. Actively contributing to the field of textiles for over 25 years, Comer has exhibited at numerous institutions across the United States. Her work is in several permanent collections such as Seeking Indigo, North Charleston’s City Hall, Seltzer, Jonathan Green, the Charleston Cultural Affairs Department, Island Breeze of Mosquito Beach, The Jamestown Historic Foundation, and Lynden Sculpture Garden Foundation. Comer is featured in several documentaries and design segments such as PBS, Home and Garden TV, and Alternate ROOTS. Since 2008, she has convened a master batik studio at North Charleston’s Production Center and continues to teach Indigo/Batik workshops in her native South Carolina and across the globe.
