Rosalba Breazeale

September 1 - December 1, 2023
Black Seed Studio Resident

Rosalba Breazeale received an MFA from the University of New Mexico in 2022 and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017. Their work has been exhibited across the United States as well as internationally. Most recently their work was included in the London Alternative Process Collective’s group exhibition, Transmutation, in Margate, England and they conducted their solo exhibition, Poems from Kay Pacha, at Strata Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. Breazeale is working on a collaborative project on the effects of heavy metals with inhalant toxicologist, Jessica Begay as part of the 2023 Shared Futures fellowship. Their multidisciplinary art practice ranges from analog and alternative process photography, videography, installation, and fiber art with an emphasis on sustainable materials. Breazeale’s identity as a Queer, Jewish, transnational adoptee from Peru forms the foundation from which they create work addressing connection to land, immigration, and environmental justice.
